French Agrogeneration to invest in berry growing business

AgroGeneration intends to become a co-founder of the berry growing cooperative in Ternopil region

The French investor to Ukraine AgroGeneration plans to purchase equipment worth UAH 300 000 for freezing berries in support of the cooperative in the town of Krasne in Ternopil region of Western Ukraine.

In this way, the agricultural holding will make a contribution into the creation of a cooperative as a co-founder, according to a representative of AgroGeneration in Western region of Ukraine Viktor Bykov.

Local council plans allocate UAH 100 000 from its budget for the development of a cooperative aimed at the production of raspberries. Now the district authorities are preparing documents for the registration of a legal entity.

Ukraine has been exporting a record volume of frozen raspberries. This is due to the increased demand from the EU countries. In September 2017, Ukraine delivered 3,400 tons of the frozen berries abroad, which is 1.8 times higher than a year ago.

In Q3/2017, Ukraine exported 8,100tons of frozen raspberries, 1.7 times more y/y in real terms.
